Finding a clinical supervisor you feel comfortable working with can be challenging. Please use the tips below if you are looking for your supervisor.
Is your supervisor a state-approved supervisor?
Did you receive a Supervision Contract (Agreement) from your supervisor?
Are you clear with your supervisor’s supervision approach?
What roles does your supervisor take?
Has your supervisor discussed cultural dynamics in the supervisory relationship? And how often do you discuss that with your supervisor?
Did you discuss your supervision needs and professional goals with your supervisor?
How often does your supervisor check in with your needs and goals?
Do you feel safe with your supervisor?
What topics or areas of concern do you feel hesitated to discuss with your supervisor? And why?
Is your supervisor available for emergency and are you clear with the emergency protocols?
Has your supervisor been actively seeking feedback from you?
