No Surprises Act & Good Faith Estimate

“Right to Receive a Good Faith Estimate of Expected Charges” under the No Surprises Act

Effective January 1, 2022, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your medical care may cost.

What consumers need to know about surprise or balance billing (Washington State)

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical services, including counseling and psychotherapy services, will cost. Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act (No Surprises Act), healthcare providers are required to inform individuals who do not have healthcare insurance or who are not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage. This act aims of protecting consumers from receiving unexpected medical bills, and you have the right to ask your healthcare provider you may choose, for Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is $400 or more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Please make sure to save a copy of a picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, please contact billing@cccplace.com.
